The long and cool 2009 growing season resulted in average yields of rich, bright and structured fruit. Appealing aromas of lavender, herbs de Provence and black cherry liqueur introduce the 2009 Caravan. The wine is full-bodied, exhibiting alluring dark fruits juicy plum and blueberry, balanced by dusty mocha, anise and oolong tea. Well-balanced, the tannins are soft and round and the finish long and enjoyable, revealing delicate notes of cinnamon and cedar. 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc, 1% Malbec.
Appellation: Darioush Estate Vineyards in Napa Valley & Mount Veeder.
Caravan shares the pedigree of Darioush's Signature wines, but displays more ripe, saturated fruit with an elegantly textured finish. Caravan Cabernet Sauvignon is comprised of a unique blend with Merlot, Cabernet Franc or Malbec from our estate. This is Darioush's second label, but it compares very well against many winery's flagship offerings.
