Youthful bright purple hues highlight the medium ruby color of the 2010 McManis Family Vineyards Merlot. Magnanimous Red Currant, and Rasperry are intertwined with whispers of dark berry pie filling. Juicy and concentrated, the lively mix of fruit flavors are accompanied by the pleasant addition of Milk Chocolate, which has been contributed through oak aging. The wine is succulent and has a pleasing toasty finish.
The 2010 Merlot was all harvested over a 18 day period from Oct. 1 - Oct. 18th, with an average of 25.6 degrees brix at harvest. All of the must was fermented for 7-9 days on the skin, pressed and the resulting wine finished fermentation in stainless steel tanks.
