J M Boillot Pommard 1er Cru Jarollieres 2005 - A softer, less rustic style of Pommard, this exudes rich, ripe black cherries and kirsch. Balanced, silky yet structured. A thoroughly accomplished wine. Jean-Marc rates this up there with his best. Drink from 2010.
The vineyards of Pommard can be unforgiving and difficult to master but rarely have we seen a Pommard as silky and classy as the Jarolliees. Jean-Marc compares his reds to the 1978s and seems convinced that he has never made better. This is becoming a delightfully common refrain!
