The hot and sunny 2009 vintage gave us a remarkably appealing Le Volte, with rich, intense fruit and spice notes, and no trace of over-ripeness. On the palate boasts a smooth, velvety mouth feel, with glossy tannins and a lively, crisp acidity, both contributing to its impressive balance, and it concludes with very lengthy
finish.

Tenuta dell'Ornellaia is situated on the Via Bolgherese in a triangle between the sea, the medieval hamlet of Bolgheri and the town of Castagneto Carducci. To get there, one travels up part of the historic 'cypress avenue' celebrated by the poet Giosue Carducci. The estate comprises 240 acres planted to Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot.
