The 2011 Beaujolais Nouveau vinification took place in a promising way. The grapes were ripe, healthy, and thick-skinned. We are very pleased with the wines we are tasting now which remind us of 2009.
The colours are intense, with deep-red cherry tints and aromas reminiscent of raspberry mingling delicately with bilberry and blackberry. Supple on the palate, with rounded tanins, they are extremely pleasant. -Frederic J. DROUHIN, September 14th 2011
During July and mid August the vineyards have enjoyed a fair weather with a mix of very nice sunny periods and light rain. The grapes are healthy with thick skins and dark berries. They have a good balance sugar-acidity, similar to the 2009 which is quite good. We expect a very nice crop with a yield also similar to the 2010 vintage. The harvest will begin this coming Wednesday making 2011 an other early crop. We will give you our first impressions on the quality of the wines after tasting the first vinifications which should be nice and easy. We expect wines to show dark colours and powerful fruit. -Frederic J. DROUHIN
