Sourced predominantly from our premier hillside Atlas Peak Cabernet Sauvignon vineyard (clone 337 on 3309 rootstock) a steeply sloping 1.27-acre southeastern facing vineyard 1400 feet above the valley floor. This vineyard yielded just 2.6 tons per acre in 2009, with very small berries redolent of black olives and currants. The grapes are sorted by hand, destemmed and partially crushed. A three day cold soak was followed by twenty-one days in tank, then eighteen months in new French oak.
This is pure and unadulterated and big: everything you hope for from "Napa Valley Cab." Unfined. Unfiltered.
